Established in the mid 1800s Newton has kept its charming past as it forges ahead for the next generation that will call Newton home. Downtown Newton public square boasts a Neo-classical building that once directed court proceedings. A classic American judicial town, Newton doesn’t shy away from remembering its past as it continues to host the yearly Soldiers Reunion – a week of patriotic and entertaining activities for area residents, including a parade downtown. The event is the oldest non-holiday patriotic celebration in the nation.
