Late Fame

Follow the story of Ed Saxberger, a forgotten New York poet whose work suddenly captures the attention of a group of young creatives. As they celebrate him as a rediscovered genius, Saxberger becomes drawn into their world and the captivating presence of Gloria, the group’s “tragic heroine.”

Directed by Kent Jones and written by Samy Burch, the film is based on a novella by Arthur Schnitzler. Willem Dafoe stars as Ed Saxberger alongside Greta Lee as Gloria and Edmund Donovan as Meyers. This thoughtful and witty film offers a wistful look at creativity, artistic recognition, and the downtown New York scene.
