Community Square Dance

Get moving and enjoy an evening of live music, dancing, and community fellowship at this intergenerational square dance. Beginners are welcome, and a dance caller will teach each dance throughout the evening, so no previous experience is necessary.

The Hickory Music Factory’s Old Time String Band will provide live music as participants learn traditional square dances, step dances, reels, and other folk dances rooted in Southern Appalachian traditions. Dancers of all ages and backgrounds are invited to join, with children required to attend with an adult.

Come learn a piece of Appalachian folk tradition while enjoying an evening of music, movement, and community.
