DESCRIPTION:Event: \nLake Hickory Shag Club was organized in March 1987 by Ann Sigmon and Jim Dingler. Both were lovers of shag dancing and wanted to share this love and experience with others in the Hickory area. Since then\, shaggers and “beginning” shaggers have gathered at the VFW in Hickory\, NC\, home of the club\, for dancing and fellowship. Membership has averaged around 100 people each year for the past several years.

DESCRIPTION:Event: \nChoral singing strengthens a sense of togetherness and belonging and even decreases anxiety. \nIf you’ve ever sung around a campfire\, you may remember that sense of joy and freedom that comes from singing together.  The Hickory Choral Society hosts a choral camp every summer to foster a love for choral singing in kids who are rising 4th through 6th graders.  Students will start each day with choral clinic and wrap up by enjoying other SALT Block activities. \nCost is minimal for half-day Monday-Friday summer camp\, but scholarships are also available to make this experience affordable for all! \nFind out more and register now: https://hickorychoralsociety.org/choral-camp/
