Project:
Over time, many storms and new developments have increased the amount of water flowing into Lyle Creek. Trash and other litter have accumulated in the creek. Many trees have fallen into the creek, and unattached vegetation is also blocking the flow of water. As a result, rain events lasting more than two days have caused the creek to fill quickly, overflowing onto properties, homes, and roadways. To limit flooding and encourage a natural and safe water flow, Conover Community Partners is organizing Creek Cleanup events with the public and raising funds for professional services to remove larger debris. Anyone aged eight and older can attend, but anyone under eighteen must have an adult accompanying them.
