Kombucha is a fermented tea that boasts probiotics, prebiotics, and may be sweetened and flavored with juice, fruit, and spices. It is a great summertime refreshment. It was traditionally brewed in China, though by the early 1900s it was enjoyed throughout Russia, Germany, and much of Eastern Europe. Students will make their own kombucha to take home, including their own SCOBY & supplies to continue on their own home-brews. The class will cover history, basic recipes, and ways to make your own flavoring syrups for future brews.
