Have you wondered what was originally on the site where BellaAge now stands? We have! The town of Hickory began just a short walk from our front door, so we know there certainly must be some fascinating stories and events associated with the site. Now, we want to share them with you!

Join us on Thursday, September 25, at 2 pm in the BellaCommons Loft, where presenter Carl Shatley will explore the rich history of the area that BellaAge now occupies. Once a lively fresh market beside the railroad tracks, the location has deep roots in Hickory’s legacy of furniture, textiles, and community.

Come hear the stories and imagine what’s next. You may be surprised at what you learn!

Carl Shatley is an accomplished educator, lecturer, and artist. He holds a Master of Arts degree in History from Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from Greensboro College.
