Cultural Foodways – Indian Tradition

June 25 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$50

Indian foodways are deeply rooted in regional diversity and seasonal ingredients. Indian cuisines reflect warmth, hospitality, and the belief that food is meant to be shared.

Guests will begin the evening by exploring educational stations that highlight traditional agricultural practices, herbal knowledge, folktales, and oral storytelling. These elements reveal how food is intertwined with daily life, belief systems, and cultural identity across India’s regions.

The evening will feature chef Aakriti Agrawal, who will share her personal journey with her Indian heritage through cooking. After an introduction to the Cultural Foodways series, Aakriti will lead a hands-on kitchen demonstration inspired by street food from North India. Guests will be invited to participate in a series of simple, guided steps before enjoying a shared meal.

The night concludes with a family-style dinner inspired by traditional vegetarian dishes Aakriti has learned to craft from her Grandmother in Delhi, whom she visits every year.

In collaboration with Hickory Soup Kitchen.
