Preserving the Past for Future Generations

October 16 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Free

Join us to learn how Hart Square Foundation is preserving and sharing this national treasure. There’s something for everyone at Hart Square – from attending an event to learning an endangered craft to joining a group tour.

Presenter Lorissa Vines is a Catawba County native who has worked in the nonprofit sector for over 20 years. Lorissa joined the team at Hart Square Foundation as the organization’s first Development Director in June 2022. She continues to share and preserve history through community outreach and philanthropy.

Step back in time to the 1800s with an introduction to Hart Square Village, the nation’s largest collection of historic log structures. Located in Vale, NC, the open-air museum consists of 103 structures built between 1760 and 1893. The expansive collection includes a functioning pre-Civil War cotton gin, trade shops, two chapels, 30 family homes, and countless artifacts that cannot be found anywhere else.
