What began with delivering toys and food has grown into a nationwide tradition of community support and goodwill.\nIn Valdese,  the program started with officers handing out candy canes and holiday cheer at local schools. Today, it has expanded into a full experience — children in need are paired with officers for a special day of gift shopping, choosing not only toys but also winter essentials like warm clothing. The day ends with a shared holiday meal and memories that last a lifetime.\n \n
